Alien Skin’s Bodyguard Remanded Over Assault of Doctors at Nsambya Hospital
Crime
The Makindye Chief Magistrates Court has remanded Julius Mugabi, the bodyguard of musician Patrick Mulwana, popularly known as Alien Skin, on charges of grievous harm against doctors at St Francis Hospital Nsambya.
Mugabi is jointly charged with Alien Skin in connection with the assault case, which is the second legal issue facing the musician.
Alien Skin, who was recently imprisoned on a robbery charge involving an iPhone, has been summoned to appear in court on November 25, 2024, to face new charges related to the incident at Nsambya Hospital.
The court heard that on November 19, 2024, Mugabi, Alien Skin, and others still at large allegedly assaulted Dr Zaidi Matovu, Dr Alex Odongo, and Dr Anthony Munyanda at St Francis Hospital, Makindye Division, Kampala.
Mugabi denied the charges and has been remanded until the next court session on November 25, 2024, when Alien Skin is expected to be brought from prison to face similar charges.
The incident that led to the assault occurred when Alien Skin caused chaos at Nsambya Hospital following the death of Joram Tumwesigye, a member of the Fangone Entertainment crew, of which Alien Skin is the leader.
Tumwesigye died about an hour after being admitted to the hospital following a car accident in Makindye.
The violent altercation reportedly involved the hospital staff and a security guard.
In a separate case, Alien Skin has been charged with robbery related to an incident in September 2024.
Prosecutors allege that he robbed Mubiru Salim of an iPhone 15 Pro worth Shs3.5 million, Shs480,000 in cash, and a wallet containing personal documents in Makindye.
It is also claimed that Alien Skin used violence during the robbery. He denied the charges and was remanded until December 9, 2024, as investigations continue.
Authorities are investigating the possibility of additional charges against the musician. Earlier this year, Alien Skin and his entourage were accused of assaulting Tonny Ntale, a bouncer at Vox Bar in Makindye, after a dispute over security procedures.
Police reports link Alien and his group to multiple violent incidents in the area.
