Police in Luweero District are investigating an incident of malicious damage to property following the torching of a vehicle during a land dispute.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 26, at around midday in Kibula Nsanvu Village, Bwaziba Parish, Luwero Subcounty.

Police spokesperson for the Savannah Region, ASP Sam Twiineamazima, reported that officers from Luwero Central Police Station responded to a distress call regarding a conflict over land in the area.

Upon arrival, the officers found a vehicle, reportedly belonging to land surveyors, burned beyond recognition.

Key exhibits, including sticks and jackets believed to have been used during the altercation, were recovered from the scene.

ASP Twiineamazima confirmed the registration of a case of malicious damage to property and assured the public that investigations are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible.

Authorities have urged residents to resolve disputes through lawful means and warned that acts of violence will not be tolerated.
