Man poisons two biological children to death in Kiboga

Police in Kiboga have arrested a man to aid in investigations into circumstances under which he poisoned two of his biological children to death.

 

According to Wamala region police spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Racheal Kawala, the incident happened on Tuesday at Magi village, Kasega parish, Kapeke sub county in Kiboga district at around 6:30pm when Thomas Aliwo Mubi, 41 poisoned his two children.

 

“Preliminary findings indicate the suspect (Mubi)  separated with his wife who left  behind their two children .However It is alleged that Mubimoved from Buyende District to Kayunga District together with  his children in search for jobs but all in vain and on Sunday , he  left Kayunga District for  Hoima city in search for a job in connection with his brother,” Kawala said.

 

 

Police says that on arrival in Hoima with his children, Mubi failed to trace for his  brother whose phone had gone off.

 

“On Tuesday,   he left Hoima City using a boda boda and  made a stopover  at Magi village Kasega Parish Kapeke subcounty in Kiboga district where he entered into building belonging to Namuli Betty together with his children and rested without the owners  knowledge.”

 

Kawala said it is alleged that later, the suspect  administered poison into  the mouth of his children causing instant death .

 

Police were informed about the incident and visited the scene of crime where the two bodies of the children were found .

 

“The bodies of the deceased  have been taken to kiboga hospital mortuary pending postmortem.It has been established that the father wanted to kill the children and flee away for his own survival alone,” Kawala said.

 

The deceased have been identified as Thomas Bugembe, 6 and Praise Kabanda, 4.
