Police in Bweyogerere are investigating the mysterious death of a woman found lifeless in her home under unclear circumstances.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, the deceased, identified as the wife of Okumu Kiwanuka, was discovered in Kireku Railways, Kira Municipality, on December 1, at around 7:40am, near Lugbas Protestant Church.
“The woman was discovered seated in her home, with bloodstains on her clothing but no visible injuries or signs of a struggle in the room,” Owoyesigyire reported.
Police say her husband, Okumu Kiwanuka, went missing shortly after the incident but was later located following a car accident. He has since been taken into custody at Kazinga Police Post.
The body of the deceased has been transported to Mulago Hospital for a postmortem examination as investigators pursue all leads to uncover the cause of death.
The case has been registered as a suspected murder under SD Ref. 07/01/12/2024 at Bweyogerere Police Station.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
