A delegation from the Sudanese University Professors Initiative (MAGSO) Uganda met with the Direct Aid Society to discuss concerns and issues affecting university professors .
The meeting was held in preparation for the visit of Professor Nour Al-Huda Al-Mujab Abdullah, Director of the Direct Aid Society’s Uganda Office.
In attendance were members of the Executive Office of the University Professors Initiative (MAGSO), including Dr. Badr Al-Din Khalafallah, Uganda Coordinator, and the Secretary of the Office. Also present were representatives from the Service offices, which provide advocacy, education, and health information.
Mr. Nour Al-Huda welcomed the initiative and expressed his full support, highlighting its importance in serving Sudanese society, particularly university professors. He provided an overview of the Direct Aid Society, its goals, and the humanitarian services it has provided since establishing its office in Uganda in 1988.
Al-Ajab noted the aid provided by the Direct Aid Society to the Sudanese people since the start of the crisis, including food aid distributed in the Kriandingo camps during and after Ramadan. Additionally, the organization supported Sudanese students taking exams in Kampala.
Dr. Badr El-Din Khalafallah discussed the university professors’ initiative, its objectives, and its role in serving the community of university professors. He emphasized the impact of university professors in serving the community.
The meeting concluded with positive results, paving the way for establishing partnerships between the two parties, the university professors and the Sudanese community in Uganda.
