Three Arraigned Over Mismanagement of PDM Funds

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SH-ACU), in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), has arraigned three individuals on charges of theft and neglect of duty.
The suspects, Mutebi John Rogers, Bbale Joseph, and Matovu John, were presented at the Masaka Chief Magistrates Court on Monday and remanded until December 23, 2024.

Mutebi and Bbale are accused of stealing money meant for the Parish Development Model (PDM) Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization (SACCO) members in Bukakata Sub-County, Masaka District, between December 2023 and October 2024.
Matovu, an Agricultural Officer and PDM Focal Person for Masaka District, faces charges of neglecting his supervisory role in overseeing PDM SACCO activities.
The arrests follow a recent inspection tour and public accountability forum (baraza) led by the Minister of Ethics and Integrity, Rose Lily Akello, to address service delivery gaps in the Greater Masaka area.
The joint effort underscores the government’s commitment to combating corruption and safeguarding public resources.
The SH-ACU reaffirmed its resolve to expose and prosecute corrupt officials, urging the public to remain vigilant and report cases of malfeasance.
